Spooky and scary

Dictionary.com defines spooky as 1. like or befitting a spook or ghost; 2. eerie; scary.

Ryland’s howling ghost costume is spooky.

And so is this hand squashed underneath this big rock.

Or Dracula’s head and arms creeping up from under his grave.

Or this elaborately decorated yard with the all these scarecrows and jack-o-lanterns and ghosts hanging around?  And I wonder what that big black thing in the middle will do on All Hallow’s Eve.  Spooky.

What about walking along empty streets lined with awkward-looking naked trees (that’s what I call these leafless trees)?

It could be scary walking alone here at night but not during the day.  This is one of the streets where I take my daily walks.

Yup, I’ve committed myself to going out everyday and walking at least 30 minutes.  I stepped on my bathroom scale a few weeks ago and was surprised to learn that I gained about 10 lbs since summer.  Now, that’s scary to me.

This is one negative thing about working at home.  I eat and I munch all day that I don’t even feel the pangs of hunger.  And I don’t find enough reason to go out of the house.  But now I found one – this weight gain.  This couldn’t be good.  No wonder some of my clothes won’t fit anymore.  I can’t afford to buy new clothes now.  And I can’t afford to join a gym membership either, or buy a treadmill.  So I think walking is the cheapest and the best form of exercise I could get for now.

And want to hear another thing that’s scary?  Halloween is just two days away (make that a day away, didn’t notice that it’s past midnight already) and there will be lots of candies in the house.  I have to control myself.   But can I?  Mwah hah hah hah hah.

OMG! This looks so fun! So envious! We don’t celebrate this and I don’t even know where to start. My hubs wanted to buy a pumpking yesterday and I even said no.

Niceheart, at least you walk. All I do is sit all day long in front of the PC.

You’re so funny! But 10 pounds is quite easy to lose — just drink lots of water!

I miss those fun and scary costumes and display stuff on halloween. I am yet to see same on some houses in my neighborhood. But then again, some houses here look spooky as it is 🙂

And after Halloween there’s Christmas and all those goodies… at least you already have your Thanksgiving out of the way, eh?

how cute. 😀 they’re supposed to be spooky, but they’re more cute than spooky, especially the vampire who looks like he’s stuck in quicksand. 😉

I also just eat all the leftover candy i had when halloween comes around. Somebody’s got to. hehe

I bought 4 big sachet of candies coz when I did my gorceries I overheard the cashiers that they should not forget candies for the children. And I asked them “do you celebrate halloween too?” and they told me it really depends from the district I live. And I remember that last year there were few groups of children came to ask candies !! Now I kept the candies therefore I will not be tempted if not……baka maubos namin before the children do their trick or treat 🙂 !

Loosing weight is difficult….naku kelangan ko rin wwwaahhhh!!!!

DR, I haven’t been to a Halloween Party either. But I enjoy watching the kids in costumes. 🙂

Sesame, I also don’t buy real pumpkins. I don’t know how to carve them.

Just drink lots of water ba, Eric? I’ll try that. Some houses there look spooky – he he he.

Phil, that’s what I’m worried about. I think Halloween is the prelude to Christmas, with all these treats and goodies.

Happy Halloween too, Ann. I guess women our age can relate to why weight gain is scary to us. It’s not easy to just shake the extra pounds off.

I think I kind of agree with you Wil. They look more cute than spooky. 🙂

Don’t let the thunder scare you, zeroimpact. 🙂 Walking is the most convenient exercise for me.

Haze, better to have some candies around for any trick-or-treaters. My two older kids are no longer coming to go trick-or-treating and instead they just asked me to buy them treats. Also told them to hand out candies to any kids that will come by the house.

    Mini-cemetery, BW? Now, that’s spooky.

Ryland’s costume is scary! I once had a Halloween witch mask; just the thought of it sitting in the garage, long after Halloween, was enough to scare me.

I’ve read that eating 5 – 6 small meals a day is good to keep energy up throughout the day. It also helps prevent overeating, since you don’t get hungry.

Glad you decided to walk every day. You’ll feel better 🙂

pinaka gusto ko halloween design ay yung ulo at kamay ni dracula nakalitaw sa lupa sa tabi ng lapida… makatotohan at nakakatakot lalo na siguro sa gabi 🙂

I walk almost everyday too for 30 minutes. It’s good and cheap… cheaper than cheap because it’s free! 🙂 It’s good exercise and you see lots of things that you could blog about. 😉

Melai, nangyari na rin sa akin yang mag-lose ng weight. Hindi lang 7 pounds, mas malaki pa. Kapag stressed, I either gain or lose weight.

It must be a scary-looking mask, Aurea. The problem with me is I don’t even get up to eat meal at the kitchen. I bring it to my work station. I plan on continuing my daily walks. I usually feel sluggish, but since I started walking, I’m feeling more energetic.

    Thanks, Kyels.

Yun ba ang favourite mo, iskoo. We went there tonight nung nag-trick or treat kami. Hindi naman talaga nakakatakot. 🙂

You also do it, Toe? It’s really a good exercise. Not only do I see things to blog about but it also de-clutters my mind. 🙂
